Get Ready for August 2024: The Most Exciting Car Launches You Can’t Miss!
After a relatively quiet couple of months, August 2024 is set to rev up with a series of exciting car launches, spanning both budget-friendly and luxury models. Here’s a comprehensive look at the vehicles that will be hitting the market this August.
Nissan X-Trail
The month kicks off with the launch of the new India-specific Nissan X-Trail on August 1st. Unveiled in July, this model is currently available for booking at ₹1 lakh. The X-Trail will come in a single, high-end variant.
Under the hood, the 2024 X-Trail features a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system. This setup delivers 161 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, channeled through a CVT gearbox. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 13.7 kmpl. For a detailed breakdown of its features, visit our website.

Tata Curvv ICE
On August 7th, Tata will introduce the Curvv in the new coupe SUV segment, which will compete with the Citroen Basalt. The Curvv will offer a range of segment-leading features, details of which are available on our website.
The Curvv ICE will be available with a choice of a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol or a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Notably, the diesel variants might also feature the DCT, making it a unique choice in the market.

Tata Curvv EV
The Tata Curvv EV, launching alongside its ICE counterpart, will feature distinct visual updates and a revised feature list. Highlights include an ADAS suite, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, touch-based AC controls, and a powered tailgate.
The top-end Curvv EV will come with a 55 kWh battery pack and an electric motor, offering an impressive range of 600 km on a full charge. Lower-spec variants might use a 40.5 kWh battery from the Nexon EV.

New Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet
Mercedes-Benz will unveil the new CLE Cabriolet on August 8th. This will be the first four-seat convertible in the Indian market, part of the brand’s Top End Vehicle (TEV) portfolio.
The CLE Cabriolet features a soft top that can be opened or closed in 20 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to 60 km/h. It is powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 375 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, managed through a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe Facelift
The refreshed Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe will arrive in the second week of August. This facelifted model features both aesthetic and performance upgrades, including a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. It now produces 421 bhp and 500 Nm, compared to the previous generation’s 362 bhp and 520 Nm.

Lamborghini Urus SE
The Lamborghini Urus SE, a facelifted version of the brand’s SUV, will be launched in India on August 9th. This updated model features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine combined with a 25.9 kWh battery pack and electric motor, generating a remarkable 800 bhp and 950 Nm of torque. New features include standard air suspension, an electronic rear differential, an electric torque vectoring system, and recalibrated drive modes.

Mahindra Thar Roxx
On August 15th, Mahindra will announce the pricing of the highly anticipated Thar five-door, now dubbed the Thar Roxx. This new model will compete with the Maruti Jimny as well as traditional mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
The 2024 Thar Roxx will come with numerous new features, including a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, an ADAS suite, and ventilated front seats. It is expected to be powered by the 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engines, with options for six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Citroen Basalt
Citroen will showcase the production-spec Basalt on August 2nd, with pricing expected by the end of the month. Built on the CMP modular platform and based on the C3 Aircross, the Basalt will feature split headlamps, a sloping roofline, dual-tone alloy wheels, projector headlights, and a dual-tone interior theme.
The Basalt is anticipated to be powered by a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, available with both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
